Home For Funerals

Our Family History

For 110 years the Carafa Family has provided funeral services to the City of Chelsea and surrounding communities. Established in the late 1890’s, William C. Carafa owned and operated the first Carafa Funeral Home. Following his death, two of his nephews, Edmund J. Carafa and William R. Carafa Sr., established The Carafa Brothers Funeral Home in the Prattville Section of Chelsea. Upon Edmund’s retirement in 1974, William R. Carafa Jr. began working with his father. The Funeral Home then became The William R. Carafa & Son Home For Funerals. William Sr. passed away in 1979, leaving William Jr. and his wife Linda, to continue operating the business. The newest addition to the family business is Amy Carafa, daughter of William Jr. and Linda. She will continue to serve the families who entrust us in their time of need.
