Carol entered into eternal rest on Monday evening, March 13, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 74 years of age.  Born in Boston, she is the daughter of the late Catherine Harrington.  Carol grew up in Charlestown and attended Charlestown Public Schools.  She married her beloved husband, Raymond J. Bell, when she was a young adult.  The couple settled in Chelsea to raise their family and it has been Carol's home for the last 44 years.  Carol and Raymond shared 38 years of marriage before his passing in 2003.  Carol was a orthopedic billing specialist at the MGH in Boston.  She dedicated almost 28 years of service when she retired in 2013.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Carol is the beloved mother of Raymond Bell and his wife Lisa, Michael Bell, all of Chelsea. Sister of Thomas "Timmy" Gilgunn of Charlestown, Donald Gilgunn of Boston, Ann Ventola and her husband Gerard of Quincy, Joan Gilgunn of Boston.  Also lovingly survived by 2 grandchildren, David and Victoria Bell of Chelsea.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary - St. Catherine of Siena Parish 55 Warrent St. Charlestown on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Visiting hours were held at the Carafa Family Funeral Home in Chelsea on Friday from 4-8 P.M.  Interment was private.
