Dani passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday afternoon, January 11, 2017, at the Cambridge Health Alliance in Everett, surrounded by her loving cousins. She was 48 years of age. Born in Los Angeles, CA, she is the daughter of the late Robert E. and Jean D. (Thompson) Guthrie. Dani has been a lifelong resident of the City of Chelsea since she settled in the city with her parents at just 3 months old. She attended Chelsea Public Schools and graduated from Chelsea High School, Class of 1987. She completed a certificate program in medical billing and coding from Everest Institute. Dani fought a courageous battle for many years against cancer. She found joy in being a Chelsea crossing guard and she looked forward to seeing the children every morning and afternoon, making sure they arrived safely to and from school. Dani will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is lovingly survived by several cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
