A Chelsea resident for almost 50 years, Edith passed away at the Dexter House Healthcare in Malden. She was 85 years of age.  Born and raised in Walden, Vermont, she is the daughter of the late Roscoe V. and Inez M. (Story) Allen.  Edith attended local schools in Vermont.  She dedicated her life as a homemaker, caring for her home and for her family.  As a mother of four, she took great pride in her home cooking and baking for her family.  She also enjoyed sewing.

Edith is the beloved wife of Edward A. Colella of Chelsea. Devoted mother of Anthony W. Griffin and his wife Gwen of Atkinson, NH, Joseph J. Griffin of Derry, NH, Sherry Ann Chipman and her husband Bruce "Hank" of Everett and the late Mildred M. Griffin.  Sister of the late Olin Allen, Hazel Brown, Mildred Savard, Helen Pizzano.  She is also lovingly survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:   Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Edith's visiting hours in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea, on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 9-11 A.M. Interment is private.
