Elsie passed away Friday morning, December 11, 2015 at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody. She was 101 years of age. Born and raised in Chelsea, she is the daughter of the late John and Jesse (Higgins) Gill. Elsie was a lifelong Chelsea resident, homemaker and care giver to her family and home. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Richard J. Howard. Elsie was a late member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church Woman's Guild in Chelsea. Over the years, she was an avid bingo player and enjoyed numerous years with her family.

Mother-in-law of Gail Howard of West Newbury and the late Dianne Howard and T. Bob Hall. Lovingly survived by 6 grandchildren, James, Richard, Christine, Lynne, Donna, Laurie and pre-deceased by 1 granddaughter, the late Deborah Hall. Also lovingly survived by 10 great grandchildren.
