Irene passed away Monday afternoon, December 29, 2014 at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years of age. Born in Burlington, Irene was a lifelong resident of Chelsea. She is the daughter of the late George and Sarah (Hollett) King of Newfoundland, Canada. Irene attended Chelsea Public Schools. She was a homemaker all of her life caring for her husband, her four children and her home. Irene was a religious woman and enjoyed listening to the Gospel Channel in her later years. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Irene was pre-deceased by her husband Salvatore P. Renda. She is the beloved mother of Dolores I. Pagliarulo of Chelsea, Robert A. Renda and his wife Bonnie Solomon of FL, Linda J. Kezar and her husband Dave of Chelsea and the late Thomas P. Renda. Mother-in-law of the late Maryanne Renda. Sister of the late Clint, George, Gordon, Clarence King and Louise LaRochelle, Doris Abramofsky. Also lovingly survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
