Josephine  (Solar) O'Brien  age 88 yrs of Chelmsford Massachusetts, passed away on September 20th, in her home with her daughter Kathleen by her side, after a long term illness.  She was the daughter of Francis L. Solar and Frances I. (Paquette) Solar of Chelsea Massachusetts. She was born November 9th 1929, the oldest of 8 children.  Josephine was born and raised in Chelsea Massachusetts and attended Chelsea public schools.  She was the wife of Thomas F O'Brien whom she met in 1945 when he returned home for his tour of Duty in the southwest pacific during WWII. It was Love at first sight.  She married Thomas in April of 1962. They bought a home in Chelmsford in 1967 and both spent the rest of their lives together in that home until her husband passed away in November of 2014. Josephine remained in her home with her daughter Kathleen to care for her until her final breath.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Thomas, her son Harold and 5 of her brothers and sisters.  Josephine's greatest joys were spending time with her beloved husband, her children, her grandchildren, parents and siblings, her home, her dogs, her vegetable gardens and flower gardens.

Josephine was laid to rest with her beloved husband on September 24th during a private service.  She will be forever missed by her daughter Kathleen, her two surviving sisters, her 3 grandchildren, her two German Shepherds as well as several Nieces, Nephews and friends.
