Obituary

Linda entered into eternal rest Monday evening, June 23, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.  She was 65 years of age. Born in Revere, she is the daughter of the late James J. and Geraldine M. (Dudley) Doherty.

After graduating from high school, Linda went on to study at Bunker Hill Community College. She began her career at the FDA before dedicating 35 years of service to the Social Security Administration, where she was known for her unwavering dedication and exceptional work ethic.

Linda embraced the simple joys in life—there was always moose tracks ice cream in the freezer, and her broccoli casserole and American chop suey were family favorites, made with care and always shared with love. Those little traditions became lasting memories, a reflection of how deeply she cared for those around her.

Linda had a steady presence that brought comfort and strength to those around her. She was the kind of person who never needed to say much to show just how deeply she cared—you could feel it in her actions, her consistency, and the way she always showed up for her family.

Family was the center of Linda's life. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with family but especially her sons and grandchildren.

Her love, loyalty, and strength touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Linda was the devoted mother of Matthew Vogan and his wife Marissa of Weymouth, Christopher Vogan of Billerica and his girlfriend Stephanie Hassan, Joshua Vogan and his wife Suzanne of Hudson.  Former wife of Paul Vogan of Billerica.  She is the beloved sister of James Doherty and his wife Debbra of Peabody, Barbara Recupero and her husband Giovanni of Ipswich, Margaret Doherty of West Newbury and Michael Doherty of Malden.  Adored grandmother of Ellie Vogan, Benjamin and William Vogan.  Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
