Obituary

Myrtle Irene (LeGrow) Bradbury

February 7, 1924 – January 3, 2024

Mrytle Irene (LeGrow) Bradbury, age 99, a longtime resident of Wilmington passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 7, 1924 in Chelsea, MA. She was the loving daughter of the late John W. and Dorcas (King) LeGrow. Myrtle was a graduate of Revere high School class of 1942. Upon graduating high school, she worked for the A & P grocery chain as a secretary for several years.

Myrtle met her husband Edward on a commuter bus to Boston. They were married at Mount Bellingham church in Chelsea on June 3, 1950. They lived in the Malden before settling in Wilmington where they raised four sons and one daughter.

Myrtle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Her first priority was that of her family. She took great pride in all of her children. She loved to bake, including her bread which was enjoyed by both family and friends.

Myrtle volunteered at the community thrift store of the Unitarian church. This experience inspired her to open Myrtle's Thrift Shoppe in Wakefield. Myrtle and Edward loved to attend auctions, flea markets, antique shops, and yard sales and made many friends in their adventures.

They especially loved to visit extended family in Newfoundland.

Myrtle was the beloved wife of Edward G. Bradbury, Sr. and devoted mother of Edward G, Bradbury Jr.  and his wife Jannell of Merrimac, Carol Bradbury and her longtime companion Leo Iacopucci of Bradford, Earl Bradbury of Acton, Paul Bradbury of Wilmington, and David Bradbury and his wife Gayle of North Andover. Loving "Nana " to her eleven grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren.

She was dear sister of the late Florrie Ryan and her husband James, Sybil Roberts and her husband Arthur, and Melvin LeGrow and his wife Helen.
