Mildred A. Patty (Carroll) Dion, 78, passed away on March 14, 2016, at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home in Chelsea following a brief illness. Born and raised in Chelsea, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Smith) Carroll. She attended local schools and graduated from Chelsea High. Pattys proudest fulfillment was being a loving and devoted mother to her son, the late Gerard Dion. Patty worked for over 20 years as a dietary aide at the Chelsea Soldiers Home. Following her retirement from there, she worked at the Don Guanella Center where she was a caregiver for adults with disabilities.
Patty is survived by a wide circle of immediate family who loved and cared for her and will miss her immensely: her sister, Joan (Carroll) Ells and Joans husband Charles Ells, of Chelsea; her nephews Edward Ells, of Chelsea, and Charles Ells Jr. and Charles husband Anthony Melchionda, of Revere; her dearest friend and companion, Daniel Chapman, of Everett, and her friend and caregiver, Cheryl Cunningham, of Revere. Patty was a sister of the late Mary (Carroll) Lipman of Arizona, and Jacqueline (Carroll) Scherer, of Colorado, and is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
