Late of Medford, Patricia passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.  She was 80 years of age.  Born in Cambridge, she is the daughter of the late James Ferreira and Mary (Medeiros) Perault.  Patricia attended Medford Public Schools and graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1956.  After high school Patricia married her beloved husband, William L. Bates, Sr.  The couple has shared 63 years of marriage.  Patricia devoted 40 years as a cashier clerk at Contan Liquors in Somerville.  During her retirement she enjoyed bowling and playing cards.  More importantly she enjoyed spending time with her large family.  She will be greatly missed by all who love her.

Patricia is the devoted wife of William L. Bates, Sr. of Medford.  She is the beloved mother of Deborah L. Wallace of TN, Sandra DiMeco and her husband Joseph of Dracut, Joanne Bates of Dracut, John S. Bates of Everett and the late William L. Bates, Jr.  Dear sister of the late Lional Ferreira and Marilyn Riley.  Sister-in-law of Joseph Riley, Jr. of Medford.  Also lovingly survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
