Richard entered into eternal rest Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2019 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family. He was 57 years of age.  Lifelong resident of Revere, he is the son of Richard A. DeSimone and Romilda (DiForte) Frizzi of Revere.  Richard attended Revere public schools and graduated from Revere High School, Class of 1979.  He enlisted in the US Air Force on December 12, 1979.  During his service he received training to become a medical lab specialist.  Airman First Class DeSimone received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the Air Force Training Ribbon.  It was during his time in the Air Force, Richard met his beloved wife, Sandra K. (Johnson) DeSimone.  Together the couple has shared 37 years of marriage.  Richard was honorably discharged from the Air Force on December 9, 1983.  Using the training he learned from the Air Force, Richard was a system administrator throughout his working career.  He worked for Newton Wellesley Hospital for 10 years and later worked for various hospitals.  Despite his illness, Richard continued working from home until recently.  Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Richard is the beloved husband of 37 years to Sandra K. (Johnson) DeSimone of Revere. He is the devoted father of Joshua A. DeSimone and his wife Krystle of Everett, Justin A. DeSimone and his wife Amanda of TX.  Dear brother of Dean DeSimone.  He is also lovingly survived by 1 niece and 1 nephew.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Richard's visiting hours on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea from 4:00 - 7:30 P.M. followed by a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home beginning at 7:30 P.M. Funeral Services will conclude with Military Honors.
