Richard E
Dyer, Jr
Dec 20, 1960 — Oct 10, 2026
Lynn
Late resident of LYNN, Richard E. Dyer Jr., 65, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on October 10, 2026.
The son of the late Richard E Dyer, Sr. and Barbara (Trickett) Dyer, Rick grew up in Malden and graduated from Malden High in 1978. He was a skilled plumber, earning his Master Plumber license, running his own business and working on several projects he proudly spoke about into retirement. It was on a job in the late 1980s that he met his wife, Therese, with whom he shared 40 years that brought them two children and a grandson, a home by the beach, countless amazing memories and too many hot fudge sundaes.
Rick was a friend to many, amassing a wide circle of cherished friends at his various local hang outs, the baseball field, the yacht club and anywhere car enthusiasts would gather. Since he was a boy, he enjoyed fishing and boating as well as sports, vehicles and wood and metal working. As a father, he taught us to build friendships that last a lifetime and to take care of family and those around you. Rick had a great heart and a sense of humor to match, and though we miss him already, we know he has missed his bride every second since she passed away, and we are grateful they are at rest together.
Rick is remembered by his daughter and her wife, Sarah and Katie Dyer of Lynn, his son Jake Dyer and his fiancé Lindsey Ballard of Lynn, and his adored grandson, Theodore Dyer. He also leaves behind his siblings; Christine Kelly of PA, Laura Sienkiewicz Petruzzi of FL, Barbara Dyer of Everett and Marguerite Mastrocola and her husband Filippo of Everett, as well as their families, including dozens of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
