Ruth passed away Saturday morning, March 31, 2018 at the Eastpointe Nursing Home in Chelsea. She was 84 years of age. Born in Woburn, she is the daughter of the late Forrest and Marie (Feely) Thomas. Ruth was a high school graduate and worked as a home health aide throughout her working career.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Bernstein. She is the beloved mother of Steven G. Bernstein and his wife Marie of Waltham, Karen Bernstein of Boston. Dear sister of Richard Thomas, Donald Thomas, Joyce Greeley, Judith Lenzie.

FUNERAL ARRANEMENTS:  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Church 59 Nichols St. Chelsea on Thursday April 5 at 10:30 A.M. Visitation with the family will precede the funeral at the Carafa Family Funeral Home 389 Washington Ave. Chelsea from 8:30 - 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Entombment will take place at a later date at the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne.
