Savvas passed away Thursday morning, January 26, 2023, at his daughter's home in Lynn, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.  He was 72 years of age.  Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, he is the son of Aikaterini Iliadis of Greece and the late Achileas Iliadis.  Savvas attended school in Greece, he graduated from high school and became a painter by trade.  He came to the United States in 1977, where he settled and raised his family.  Formerly of Somerville and Everett, Savvas dedicated his career here in the United States, as a self-employed painter.  He was a late member of the Demosthenes Greek American Democratic Club in Somerville.  Savvas helped run the club for over 20 years, overseeing the property maintenance, bar tending and overall daily operations.  He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his extended family he acquired at the Club.

Savvas is the beloved husband of Aurora L. (Buendia) Iliadis of Lynn.  Devoted father of Katrina A. Echevarria and her husband Joshua of Lynn, Kassandra J. Iliadis of Woburn, Achileas S. Iliadis of Malden.  Dear brother of Anna Blavaki and her husband Yanni of Greece.  Uncle of Maria and Christina Blavaki of Greece.  Loving cousin of John Laftsidis and Despina Colandris.   Also lovingly survived by two grandchildren, Joshua and Alexandria Echevarria and several nieces and nephews, Alex Laftsidis, Helen Colandris, Voula Colandris, Alex Colandris, Stavros Roditis, Greg Colandris, Gregory Colandris.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., CHELSEA, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.  Savvas' Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 1 at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central St., SOMERVILLE at 10:00 A.M.  Services will conclude with interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
