Boston resident, formerly of Paris, France, Solange passed away at home on July 31, 2023.  She was 94 years of age.  Born in Meheri-Zebbeus, Tunisia, she is the daughter of the late Rene and Marie (Bargoni) Petit.  As the daughter of an Officer in the French Army, Solange traveled broadly for much of her childhood.  Solange attended Sciences Po, Paris to receive a PhD in Philosophy and Anthropology and later a PhD in Psychology.  She conducted extensive field work in all of these disciplines throughout the Pacific Islands.  In 1970, Solange moved to the United States and married Governor Carlton Skinner who predeceased her in 2004.  She continued to write and be deeply engaged with the world until her death. Solange was a long-time member of the Harvard Club as well as a member of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:    There will be a Memorial Service held in Solange's memory at a date and time to be determined.
